Mellanie J. Bartlett

With almost 30 years in the advertising, marketing and communications arena, Mellanie Bartlett has worn many hats, including copywriter, creative/art director, chief strategist, media buyer, brand manager, event planner, editor, video producer, legal marketer and chief bottle washer.  In 2008 she added business owner to her credentials when she formed Sweeney & Bartlett Marketing Partners, Inc. with Debby Sweeney and the ride has allowed her to use all these skills and experiences to effectively and efficiently handle the diverse and complex needs of the company’s client base.

Prior to forming Sweeney & Bartlett, Mellanie served as director of marketing for two prominent law firms, where she branded both firms and established their first marketing and business development programs.  During this time, a highly original advertising program gained national attention for creativity and innovation and was awarded “Best Advertisement” from the national Legal Marketing Association for the Southeast region.

Other past work includes serving as regional marketing director for an upscale golf course community developer, and as the director of communications for a 4,000+ member trade organization where she founded the original Central Florida Home & Garden Show, an annual event that continues to flourish.  She also served as the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the association’s monthly newspaper.  Her tourism and hospitality marketing experience, includes work as a copywriter for Sea World and as an account manager for a Disney-area resort.

Recent speaking engagements on marketing and public relations topics include, the National Association of Bar Executives annual conference, the American Society of Appraisers international conference and the American Bar Association and she has served on the faculty of the Legalworks Marketing Partner Forum.

Mellanie holds an M.A., cum laude, in Corporate Communication and Technology from Rollins College and a B.A., cum laude, in Journalism and Radio and Television Production from the University of Central Florida.  She is a Past President and current Trustee for the Greater Orlando Builders Association Foundation, a non-profit group committed to serving children and youth in need.  She also helped establish the Orlando chapter of the Legal Marketing Association and is a graduate of the Orange County Bar Association’s Leadership Law program.
